lash me by your wind

convergence-of-the-four-winds-michelle-vynConvergence Of The Four Winds by Michelle Vyn

be the wind of lost thought
seeking redemption of ideas

that burn

inside the hollow eyes,

have you ever thought of that pink scarf,
bleached, tattered, zooming through the sky
like a fake smile on your lips?

have you ever heeded the power of a blow
of air on the birthday candles, how it
erases the years lived?

be the wind that you can’t be,
be a smelly fart if need be,
be an ode to nature, or
a quatrain that seeks nothing.

do you know of the neck
that was adorned atop the light
house, where I stood, the wind:
my body, my sheath, my life,

and how it felt to be suspended
with nothing else to spare
but for a breath of air,
hair ruffled,
silences bespoken;

do you know that neck
belonged to me?

I died that second,
and I have been dying
thenceforth.

I am the wind, I am
the power,

and I am invariably caught
in this struggle.

I remember you…

“He isn’t ready. I won’t suggest you to meet him.”

“I would like to see him and that is my decision.”

“Love, he doesn’t remember…”

A single drop of tear appeared in her eyes, “I don’t care whether he remembers or not. I want to meet… meet him,” she said in a cracked voice.

“As you wish dear, but do not tell him…”

They walked up the old wooden staircase which creaked at every step. There was a foul smell emerging from the room looming before them.

“I give you ten minutes,” the care taker said and walked back down the stairway.

She was left alone. Hesitatingly, she knocked at the door. There was no reply. She knocked again.

“Uh!” a terrible voice emerged from inside.

She opened up the door and found the wrinkled man sitting on the chair, curiously looking at her.

“I remember you, sweetheart… my daughter.”

* This comes out to be my 400th post. I thank you all for the continuous support. It is a great feeling. This blog has become the most important thing in my life and I am not kidding. 🙂

And to rejoice the moment, I would like to share one of my most favorite songs with you all:-

Stairway to Heaven: A 100 Word Story

“And she is buying a stairway to heaven…,” he was lost in the song, croaking his drowsy voice along with the track, which he thought, precisely matched with that of the singer.

“Shut up bud. Sing to yourself. I am here trying to study and your cacophony is bugging me.”

He gave him a dirty look and continued his cackling.

“Seriously, I gifted you the CD so that you could listen to it and be dazzled by the brilliance of the track, not ruin it up.”

“It is Led Zeppelin. What do you reckon? I dance over it. Let me sing.”

leaving for her journey

Hello bloggers,

I got a wonderful opportunity to work with the lovely Merbear and you know what, we ended up creating this poem together. Please read and share your views.

leaving for her journey

She was binding her hair in a bun

Readying herself for the journey ahead

Which may take her to distances unknown

Bring in her the sense of being alive

She had never felt ever before

She was leaving behind all her fears

For the adventure that awaited her

 .

Her stomach coiled like a snake

Past torments licking at her heels

Dare she run so fast and proud?

Her life not worthy of a fairy tale

She sighs so loudly she startles herself

Trapped emotions needing to meet air

Praying to breathe air

 .

The stream of tears fell down her cheeks

Which she didn’t even care to wipe away

She was looking for a happy ending

Which she had to find herself in her own way

She picked up her hand bag of happy memories

And moved ahead towards her cage door

And pushed it open, it wasn’t locked

 .

Desperate echoes of her soul

Beckoning to her aching heart

Calling her to where she needs to be

She trembles with trepidation

Limbs weakened by the struggle

Her life never drawn before

By her own personal design

 .

She was never meant to be free

Doubts crossing her mind

When she had just seen the sunshine

But she would never return back

And thence, she flies away

Its true leaving is difficult but

Once you have left, it is easy not to turn back

 .

Then the breeze whispered her name

A lullaby warm and soothing

Like balm for her battered soul

Bringing her back to herself

Oh, she thought she had been lost!

Smiling inside herself with pure joy

For her true path was known all along

blazing nebulous visions

blazing nebulous visions

cut open,

crush every thought

once beheld,

once inhaled with every breath,

now torched,

on the sacrificial slab;

.

they bring forth confusion,

maddening the being,

leaving him to hover

in an opaque shroud

against the naked sky,

timing every such vision

touching and baring his soul.
