opinion

.
downward and low,
an opinion hanging

by the whiskers of their mouth, they all have
to say and demonstrate this or/and that,
keeping in store lopsided voices to
commemorate their oh so mighty wisdom,

i am giggling to myself, humble in
my own obtrusive opinion, filling
circles with cascading blue ink, drawing
eurythmic patterns of scutoids that form
the epithelium of this marriage —

the lofty union of art with garb-age,
a tirade of the song against poetry,

and i am still giggling, misguided in my
undernourished appetite for newness,
a well-rounded change for the worse, if not
on a revitalized road to salvation.

my locomotive-like scattered brain goo
gone off the tracks of an atemporal
listing, and i am giggling and giggling,
and they are oh-opinionating,
all for a single prose,

i am no screenwriter drawing storyboards,
i am a single founded, mutually admired myth
posturing for a life figure —

the so-called youth gone wayward, loosening
the coils of their and my very own time,
in a self-congratulatory realm of
opinions.

what is with all these dew drops,
that stand   a   p   a   r   t    and together
on the pebbles of my path,

it meanders through tunnels
and valleys, overgrowth everywhere,
sprouting seeds of tolerance and bearing.

be careful of your heart because where it sets
becomes your yearning, it’s a debt that won’t go
off, it will surely be yours, like those eyes.

so be a Ferris wheel of life, winds won’t stop you.

For Writing Prompt# 132 at MLM Menagerie and Micro Poetry at At Real Toads.

This is Poem # 8 for my 30 Days, 30 Poems Challenge. And now I have started to get restless. Ha!

a moment of detachment

i stopped having tea last month but have had
a lapse only once, I am cutting down on caffeine,
on sugar, on white carbs, on the world I see,

a capricious mood is hanging on my window,
dry flowers stuck to the shade, coloring the sun
that makes its way in, I don’t feel but smell warmth
tingling my nostrils, I sneeze out despair and
set up a guest room for the spring to rest and stay.

flames flicker on my skin, I don’t mind being burnt
by the season that lasts but as long as I close my
dry, lifeless palms, a few rhetoric seconds of delay.

i stopped being stopped for a day, and it felt strange
and yet not in a positive way, the birds shall fly
to the lands new, talk to strangers familiar, I stay.

This week, we are going mythical. Yes, we are going to enjoy the world of Greek mythology. I present to you an oil painting by Nicolas Poussin, named Bacchus and Midas. You all must be aware of these two names. Bacchus(Roman name of Dionysus) was the God of Wine and son of Zeus/Jupiter and Midas has a very famous tale attached to him- the king who could turn anything to gold by his touch. Though there are three references of King Midas in Greek mythology, the one with the gold touch is the most popular.

This painting was completed in 1630 and presently finds its abode at Alte Pinakothek, Munich, Germany. You can write anything, inspired from this painting. The thing most concrete to me is the intoxication, which would make an interesting write.
