missing a step,
I dropped down to awkwardness,
my cheeks flushed red, laughter lines
stretching on those walking with me,
to my fall down the sidewalk-
that was that moment’s silent reception…

I loved this more than I wish I had to admit. Just last week I tripped over the power cord lighting up the display where we got our Christmas tree, and just about caused a blackout;)
