Three things are influential in helping a “sad” being to survive.

The first is empathy.

The second is empathy.

And the third is empathy.

  1. I’ve thought about this a lot. What a difference even one caring person can make in the life of someone else. Your piece expresses such a lovely sentiment!

    • Thank you so much for your kind words.
We are all living breathing beings, but there are some of us who find it difficult to continue to live.. how much wonderful it would be if we all lend our helping hands to those who need some support to cling to in order to survive. We can save lives by just being a little understanding and supportive..

  2. Kir Piccini says:

Empathy is one of my favorite emotions..in fact when people who know me are asked to describe me I often get Empathetic as a defining trait.

I loved this and the way you used the picture to illustrate, it was perfect.

    have a good weekend.

  3. What a difference understanding can make. I think sometimes we get so wrapped up in our own troubles that we don’t even realize someone around us is struggling.

I really like the accompanying photo, too.

    • Thank you for the kind remark.
At least what we can all do is lend our ears to those who want to talk but they haven’t got anyone in their lives to share their feelings, their emotions with who would understand them. So, lend and understand are the two key words here, I guess.

  4. I work with batterers (males who have been court ordered to attend a program due to their abusive behavior of their partners). One of the components – and one of the most difficult – is Empathy and Compassion. I get this – you do as well. Would that the world at large could share the importance. Thanks!
